Download RCX Firmware Instructions

Please have RCX PicoBlocks open before starting.

• Remove one battery from the RCX
• Press the ON/OFF button
• Put the battery back
• Press the ON/OFF button again - the "little person" and the number 1 next to it will appear

• Point the RCX towards the LEGO Tower
• In RCX PicoBlocks , click on Open and wait for the dialog box to appear
  

• In the dialog box, follow these steps:
  • Step 1: at the bottom of the dialog box choose the file type RCX firmware from the dropo down menu.
  • Step 2: Select the file firm0328.lgo (at the top level of the RCX PicoBlocks folder)
  • Step 3: Click Open

• The download will start. Wait for about 4 minutes (numbers on the RCX display start changing until they reach the total number of blocks)
• Make sure not to interrupt the IR transmission (don't move the RCX while the download is happening)
• When the download finishes RCX PicoBlocks will show

• If the download succeeds RCX will make the "OK" sound and its display will look as follows:
